Botafogo unveiled on Friday, May 22, 2026, the first kit of their partnership with Mizuno. The black-and-white shirt opens the 2026/27 collection, marks the practical start of the deal with the Japanese supplier and is expected to debut on Saturday against Sao Paulo, at 5 p.m. Brasilia time, at MorumBIS, in Round 17 of the Brazilian Serie A.
The launch campaign is called “Eu Sou do Preto e Branco” and puts the club’s tradition at the center of the presentation. Alex Telles is among the players featured with the new shirt, while club idol Paulo Cezar Lima Caju also appears in the campaign.
Tribute To The 1942 Merger
The new shirt revisits historic Botafogo elements and directly references the merger between Club de Regatas Botafogo and Botafogo Football Club in 1942, the moment that formed today’s Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas. The model uses stripes inspired by the club’s 1940s kits, a collar that nods to early player shirts and a commemorative label for the year of the merger.
Botafogo kept creative control over the design of the pieces, as it had during the previous Reebok partnership. The change now is the start of a new commercial and sporting cycle with Mizuno, announced in April as the official supplier on a three-and-a-half-year deal running through the end of 2029.
Sales Start On Launch Day
In addition to the striped shirt, the official rollout includes a white shirt and a travel kit. The first pieces were scheduled to reach Botafogo Store physical shops and the club’s online store from noon on Friday.
The calendar gives the launch immediate weight. The planned debut against Sao Paulo turns the shirt into a matchday subject, not only a retail release, and closes the transition that began with the end of the Reebok era, the supplier that dressed Botafogo during the 2024 Copa Libertadores and Brazilian league title campaigns.
For Mizuno, the agreement with Botafogo also has strategic value. In the official note announcing the partnership, the brand emphasized the connection between two century-old institutions and presented the club as its first football sponsorship in Brazil. The first shirt therefore arrives with the task of turning that message into a visible identity for supporters.
